Cybersecurity legislation saw moderate movement in June 2026, with seven bills advancing across six states. Florida and West Virginia each enacted measures, FL HB 1081 on cybersecurity education and WV HB 5638 on the state's cybersecurity program and chief information security officer. New York accounted for two of the six bills that passed a chamber, both addressing data security and breach notification. Illinois sent HB 4966, the DCFS-SECURE ACT, to the governor after passage by both chambers.
