Legislative intelligence,done right

LawSignals was built because a lawyer advising on a subject deserves better than cobbled-together solutions for tracking legislation.

Our mission

Thousands of bills are introduced, amended, and voted on across 50 states and Congress every week. A firm specializing in AI regulation might miss a critical bill update in Ohio because they were focused on California. By the time they catch it through traditional channels, their clients are already behind.

Volume is only half of it. Almost no bill that regulates artificial intelligence contains the phrase, and almost no security obligation arrives in a bill called a security bill. A keyword list is a snapshot of last session's drafting convention, and it degrades quietly: it keeps returning results, so nothing tells you what it stopped catching.

LawSignals solves both problems. Every bill across the states and Congress is scored against a written scope rather than a keyword list, so a bill reaches you for the duty it creates. Once a month each tracker publishes a written issue on what moved, built to be forwarded to a client without editing it.

What we believe

Coverage, Stated

Every state legislature, DC and federal Congress, with the depth of each one published rather than claimed.

Speed Matters

When legislation changes, you need to know now, not tomorrow. Our infrastructure prioritizes fast, reliable alerts.

Security First

Legal professionals handle sensitive matters. Enterprise-grade encryption and privacy are foundational, not afterthoughts.

Team-Friendly

Collaboration shouldn't require workarounds. Client-branded reports your group can forward, a read-only viewer role for the people who only need the output, and one plan covering up to five of you.

How it works

How A Bill Reaches You

Everything filed is collected. What belongs to your practice area is decided by the obligation a bill creates, not by the words in its title.

Collecting everything filed

200+ automated scrapers collect bill data from every state legislature and federal Congress: introductions, amendments, votes, signatures, and, where a legislature publishes it in a machine-readable form, the full text of the bill.

Every state legislature, DC and federal. Depth varies by state, and the methodology page reports it

Deciding what is yours

Each curated tracker carries a written scope describing the duties and mechanisms it covers. Every bill in the corpus is scored against it, so a bill reaches you for what it does rather than for the words in its title.

Which is why a bill regulating AI without ever using the word still arrives
