What is BYOK and why does it matter?
BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) means you connect your own OpenAI or Claude API key directly. Your AI queries go straight to the provider—we never see, store, or log them. This is critical for maintaining attorney-client privilege and data confidentiality. You also pay AI providers directly at their rates with zero markup.
Do you store my search queries or AI interactions?
No. Your AI interactions go directly from your browser to OpenAI/Claude using your API key. We store your bill tracking categories and settings, but your AI prompts and responses are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
What jurisdictions are supported?
LawSignals tracks legislation across all 50 US states plus federal Congress. We aggregate data from Congress.gov, LegiScan, and Open States to provide comprehensive coverage. International jurisdictions are not currently supported.
What counts as an "active bill"?
An active bill is any bill you're tracking in your categories. Bills from previous legislative sessions that are no longer being updated don't count toward your limit. You can track up to 1,000 active bills per user on all plans.
Can I add more users to my plan?
Yes! Additional users can be added at $15/month per user on any plan. For teams larger than 30 users, contact us about Enterprise pricing with unlimited users and custom limits.
How does the annual discount work?
Annual billing saves you 10% compared to monthly billing. For Starter, that's $60/year saved. For Professional, $240/year. For Firm, $600/year. You can switch between monthly and annual at any time.
Is there a free trial?
We offer personalized demos where we'll set up the platform for your specific use case. This gives you a much better sense of value than a generic trial. Book a demo and we'll walk you through everything.
What happens if I exceed my bill limit?
We'll notify you when you're approaching your limit. You won't lose access to existing bills, but you'll need to either remove some tracked bills or upgrade your plan to add more.
