Regulatory change tracking for regulated businesses: tools and prices compared

Regulatory change tracking for compliance teams outside banking: Regology, Archer, AscentAI, BillTrack50, Plural, Quorum and LawSignals, with prices.

By , 4 min read

Short answer: regulatory change software splits by who regulates you. Banks and global firms buy enterprise platforms built around obligations registers: Archer Evolv Compliance, AscentAI, Bloomberg Regology. A business regulated by US states, such as a cannabis operator, a distributor, a health plan or a carrier, needs the bills and the state agency rules for its own industry, by state, with the dates they take effect. That is a smaller, cheaper job, and few of the enterprise tools are priced for it.

Prices below are each vendor’s own published figures, read on 1 November 2026. “No published price” means the vendor’s site shows none.

Count the states and the topics. Per-state pricing (BillTrack50) is cheap for one state and reaches $5,000 a year for national coverage of bills, and as much again for regulations. Per-industry pricing (LawSignals) covers every state for one subject. Per-user pricing (Regology) scales with the team.

Ask which states’ rules are actually read. No vendor reads every state agency for every topic, and few say which ones they do. Ask for the list by state and by topic, and for the states that are not covered.

Where LawSignals fits

This is our product, so weigh this section with that in mind. Everything here can be checked on the compliance page and in the published reports.

LawSignals is organised by industry: cannabis, alcohol and beverage, healthcare, insurance, transportation and logistics, employment and more. Each Tracker follows bills in every state, DC and Congress, federal rules from the Federal Register, and state agency rule changes in the states its page names, with the states it does not read named beside them. Effective dates and comment deadlines land in one calendar, and each Tracker publishes a monthly report you can forward.

It is not an obligations register and does not map rules to controls. The codified administrative code is not included, only changes to it. Tracker scopes are drafted by a model and are not attorney-reviewed.

If that is the job, see the Trackers, read a published report, and start the 14-day trial.
